We all want to feel good about our appearance, but sometimes it’s difficult to be positive when we know there are areas we would like to change if we could. If excess hair is one problem area you’d like to eliminate, electrolysis (Permanent Hair Removal) can help you do just that. This procedure will eliminate your unwanted hair , and in the process, give you a new self-confidence. Electrolysis can definitely change your life in a positive way by removing unwanted hair. Many factors can contribute to the growth of excess hair, heredity, normal physiological changes, malfunction of endocrine system, medication, topical influences, stress, puberty, pregnancy and menopause. Regardless of the cause of your specific hair problem, electrolysis can safely and permanently eliminate hair and is a wonderful hair removal treatment option.
HOW IT WORKS
An electrolysis treatment involves the inserting of a sterile probe, the same size as the hair, into the hair follicle opening down to the dermal papilla. (witch is the part of the follicle that contains blood and nerves and feeds the growing hair.) When the probe is in its place, a low-level electrical current is applied that will destroy the papilla and surrounding cells and loosen the hair in the follicle. Then the hair is removed.
At Simply Smooth we have the EVOLUTION 5 system. It is a electric epilation device that offers, more energy , more comfort and faster, more permanent results. If you choose electrolysis as a solution to your hair problem, it will provide a number of cost efficient hair removal benefits. Your investment will pay for itself in confidence, an improved appearance, and self-satisfaction. Simply Smooth provides a number of unique hair removal options and electrolysis can provide a cost effective solution for hair removal in a number of areas.

Are there different methods of Electrolysis?
There are three recognized(methods) of electrolysis:
GALVANIC (direct current) electrolysis – the hair is destroyed by chemical action.
THERMOLYSIS (high frequency) electrolysis – the hair root is destroyed by heat production.
BLEND electrolysis – a combination of the above two methods where the hair root is destroyed by both heat and chemical action at the same time.
All three are safe and effective. We will choose the method which is best for you.
Is Electrolysis permanent?
Electrolysis has been shown to be permanent in over a century of use. Its permanency has been well recognized by knowledgeable physicians and is also testified to by hundreds of scientific articles published in the medical literature. In addition to scientific recognition, there are over one million happy and satisfied persons who have solved a very personal and embarrassing problem with help of electrolysis.
Is Electrolysis painful?
Whether there is any discomfort during electrolysis is quite variable depending on a patient’s tolerance, machine settings used, as well as other factors. During most treatments a definite sensation should be noticed. It has been variously described as a “slight heat”, “tingling” or “stinging” sensation. Our electrologists are trained to work within the comfort tolerance of his/her patients. Don’t hesitate to let him/her know what you are feeling.
Are there any side effects caused by Electrolysis?
Electrolysis has been performed for over 120 years and has proven to be an extremely safe procedure. Having read most of the medical literature on electrolysis, I’m not aware of any serious complication or side effect. Electrolysis, like many minor procedures in medicine, does have a short healing phase. During this time, there may be some transient redness or swelling and occasionally some pinpoint scabbing. Your electrologist will advise you regarding what can be expected during the healing phase.
Simply Smooth Electrolysis: Designed for the utmost comfort and effectiveness
Until now, electrolysis equipment used a probe to transmit an electrical current that was timed and that did not vary in intensity. This resulted in sharp, albeit brief pain, followed by a persistent, diffused and unpleasant sensation.
With the EVOLUTION 5, the intensity and duration of the current are modulated in decreasing sequence, while the probe is inserted. This technique destabilizes the nerve fibers that transmit pain and reduces the discomfort usually associated with electrolysis.
The outcome is improved comfort during treatment while focusing more useful energy in the follicle, resulting in a more effective treatment.
